The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) scores all vehicles based on calculated greenhouse gas emissions and fuel economy. The most environmentally friendly vehicles receive SwartWay or SmartWay Elite designation. Your rate discount is based on your vehicle's EPA designation at the time your loan is approved.
Make a difference with cutting-edge or conventional
Nearly one third of the pollution in the U.S. is caused by tailpipe emissions from cars and trucks, according to the EPA. But you can reduce your impact by choosing a SmartWay or SmartWay Elite vehicle. For example, Toyota boasts that its Prius emits 70 percent less pollutants than the average new vehicle. And many conventional cars, like the Volkswagen Jetta and Chevy Tahoe, can qualify for SmartWay designation.
Go electronic; go green
To qualify for the E-Go loan discounts, you must also meet these E- (electronic) requirements, which extend the E- (environmental) impact.
