Digital Insight, Columbia Credit Union's online banking provider, has notified the credit union about a current phishing scam directed at its partner financial institutions and their members. CUNA reports new phishing attempt – 11-05-07
The Credit Union National Association (CUNA) reported an increase in phishing emails over the last week. Several versions of the scam are circulating nationwide. The emails claim to be from CUNA and request consumers to call a phone number or click a link due to a compromised credit card account. You should not respond to this message. Phishing alert from Columbia – 06-16-07
We have become aware of an email claiming to be from Columbia Credit Union, asking you to participate in a "new security system" and log into your account with a provided link. Be advised that Columbia Credit Union did NOT send this email.

FDIC phishing alert – 10/19/06
The FDIC has received reports by businesses and consumers of a phishing email that has
the appearance of being sent from the FDIC. Consumers and financial institutions are asked to report any similar attempts to obtain this information to the FDIC by sending information to alert@fdic.gov

CreditUnion.com misrepresented in phishing scam
CreditUnion.com issued an alert April 27, 2006 warning that crooks are using a fraudulent email to solicit personal information including name, phone, e-mail and credit card information. The emails have targeted members from various credit unions. CreditUnion.com never requests personal information via email. If you have any questions or receive this phishing scam, call 800.446.7453.

IRS warns of email scam about tax refunds
The Internal Revenue Service warns consumers not to be tricked by a bogus email about a tax refund. The email claims to be from the IRS and attempts to trick recipients into disclosing their personal financial data. If you receive a similar email, do not open any attachments and contact the IRS at 800.829.1040.

Phishing scam falsely appears like NCUA
The National Credit Union Administration (NCUA) issued a public alert regarding a phishing email that poses as if it is from NCUA to lure people to reveal personal information. The NCUA will never ask credit union members for such information. If you receive a similar email forward it to Phishing@ncua.gov.
